Happy Birthday Hans Christian Anderson-April 02,2022

Hans Christian Anderson, popularly known for his fairy tales, was born on 2nd April 1805. You must have read or heard about The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling, and The Match Girl. He is the brain and words behind it all, and also many other stories. It will be fair to say that he has given humanity a new way of learning about morality. It is indeed an incredible feat to build up so many worlds and to look at the one at hand from such a different perspective.

Anderson’s stories set a benchmark and started a movement that dealt with writing the “fantastic” tale - fairy tales and fantasy, a world beyond us, but alive within our imagination.

Did you know he inspired A Milne’s Winnie The Pooh? Talk about inspiration and coincidences! If we did not have the ugly duckling, we wouldn’t have Pooh and Piglet either. Such is life - and we're pretty sure Anderson would have loved this beautiful turn of events.

He is a pioneer when it comes to creating a new kind of literature that you can introduce to children at a young age and have become a part of their foundation forever.

Life is drab as it is sometimes, these stories keep the will to keep looking out for beauty and magic alive in all of us. BookPal recommends you to sit with your little ones, or maybe even by yourself, and learn a little more about yourself and the world via Anderson’s words.

As he has said - Most of the people who will walk after me will be children, so make the beat keep time with short steps.
