2. A list of the top 10 books that must be read before the arrival of the year 2032.

The world of the future is one of exciting discoveries, inventions, technologies etc. We all always dream of what life will be like in the future and want to experience it when we reach that age. Scientists have given some theories on what the world of the future will look like. There will be flying cars, smart devices will become even faster, and the internet will be accessible and free in every part of the world. To get all these things, researchers and scientists are working round the clock and not stopping at anything. Even the fields of healthcare and education will see some rapid strides by the year 2032.

This futuristic life is looking rosy at the moment but only time will tell what it will bring in the actual sense of when the population will reach this year. Maybe by the year 2032, India would also become a very developed country like the USA and China. India is making rapid strides in all fields and achieving newer heights every day.

However, with the advancement in other fields, we may also face severe loss of natural resources such as water, and fossil fuels and other shortages. That’s why everyone is trying to take steps towards maintaining a cleaner and greener Earth for future generations.

Our wildlife could also suffer because of the futuristic model that we all are dreaming of at the moment. Already many species of wild animals are on the list of endangered species. This could spell doom for our future generations who will remain devoid of viewing such animals in real life.

Thus, there are many more positive and negative faces of the future. It all depends on how we will conserve our natural resources for future generations. We must start doing so from today so that our Earth remains a livable planet even in the future.

Global warming needs to go down along with the carbon footprint that we are emitting very badly in today’s society. While India is emitting fewer carbon footprints in the atmosphere, other major countries like the USA have the highest rate of carbon emissions in the world.

Even the activities of people will change in the future. Maybe book reading will become a thing of the past and people will depend more on technology to give them entertainment. Children have almost stopped reading books these days as mobile phones are their favourite pastime. When parents try to take these devices away, the tantrum levels are shocking to watch.

We are also seeing that children are losing their innocence rather early and they talk like adults and even make their parents promise that they will be provided with a mobile phone when they reach home. Our children are going in the wrong direction today.

In this blog, we are going to showcase the top 10 books that everyone must read before the advent of the year 2032. So, let’s get into the topic without further ado.

Top 10 Books to Read Before the Year 2032

Some of these books are as follows-

1. Fiona and Jane by Jean Chen Ho- This is a debut collection of stories written by Ho in which he has described the lives and loves of two friends in Los Angeles in the 20th century. The 20th century was the age of R&B mixtapes, Cool Water cologne and red faces drunk on soju. Alongside this positive picture of the 20th century, Ho has also shown the home lives that are rife with long-held secrets and tensions as both the friends are daughters of Taiwanese immigrants to the USA.

2. The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan- This novel is a gripping and horrifying tale of a woman who one day decides to go out of her apartment on a whim and she does that and leaves her baby behind. She only intends to stay out of the house for a short period, but somehow the time lapses much faster. When she realizes this folly of hers, it is too late. She is taken to a facility dedicated to making women good mothers to their children. She is continuously monitored by the authorities at the camp and is given a robotic baby to take care of. It is a challenge for her as constant surveillance keeps watch on how she treats the baby. This is a spine-chilling novel much along the lines of Margaret Atwood and Kazuo Ishiguro.

3. All of You Every Single One by Beatrice Hitchman- This novel by Hitchman is a story full of different characters and has as its theme the backdrop of the eve of the Second World War. The setting is Vienna in the 20th century. It has a big cast of queer characters who go to the Jewish quarters to find love, companionship and romance with other people. Many love stories have been interwoven between the pages of this novel. This book also showcases the post-war effects on this cast and how they cope with their lives after this big event. Hitchman has written a novel about holding onto love and the families that we create even when the historical circumstances are adverse.

4. Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez- This is an exciting novel written by Gonzalez that traces the life of Olga, who is a party planner by profession and helps people realise their dreams by doing the best she can. She is living a comfortable life among the elite people of Manhattan as a successful woman with a demanding career. But, tension starts brewing in Olga’s life when her career life clashes with her familial one in Puerto Rican Brooklyn and she must strike a balance between the two by making sacrifices on both ends. On the one hand, this story may outline the life of a woman having a successful career, love, and happiness but on the other, it also shows the slow burndown of the American Dream that many aspire to have when they go to the USA.

5. Wahala by Nikki May- This is the story of an Anglo-Nigerian group who reside in London and have their own lives and stories that have been interwoven by the author. While the three friends are having a gala time with each other, their lives get disrupted when they meet their fourth member. This novel is very much along the lines of SATC. Wahala will become a blockbuster film in the future because of its excellent storyline.

6. Lost and Found by Kathryn Schultz- This book by Schultz speaks on the topic of emotions in which the first half deals with grief and loss while the second half of the book deals with happiness, joy and love. However, Schultz has explained how humans experience joy and sadness in equal tandem. Thus, this book deals with some very heavy topics with grace, comedy and rigour.

7. Mouth to Mouth by Antoine Wilson- This is the story of Jeff Cook who has a chance encounter at an airport with the nameless narrator and a writer with whom he shares a never told before the tale of saving an art dealer from drowning at a beach. Afterwards, Jeff meets the art dealer once again but the dealer doesn’t seem to recognize Jeff instantly. Slowly, Jeff starts entering the life of the art dealer and climbs the higher ranks of society and also starts dating the dealer’s daughter in the process. This is a great tale of fate and deception written by Wilson and is a very short novel of 192 pages. You will want to read this one in one sitting.

8. I Came All This Way to Meet You by Jami Attenberg- Attenberg’s debut novel, All Grown Up was a huge success when it first came out in 2017. Now, with her second novel which is also a memoir, Attenberg has described more about her life in New Orleans. All the events in the novel have been told in a very humorous style by her. She also uses an intimate style of writing her fictional novels.

9. To Paradise by Hanya Yanagihara- This is another great novel by Yanagihara. The novel is divided into three parts that are a hundred years apart from each other. The first section of the novel takes place in the year 1893, the second in the year 1993 and the third and last one is looking into the world of the future in 2093. This is a brilliant take on various issues of the future and should be read before the year 2032.

10. Admissions: A Memoir of Surviving Boarding School by Kendra James- In this novel, James has presented to her readers the world of elite boarding schools that have been making big names in their institutions that have gone on to achieve their dreams. In the memoir, James takes the readers on her journey of three years that she spent at Taft which is a private boarding school in Connecticut and the racism that she faced in an all-white boarding school. This is a very eye-opening tale written by James and must be read by all of us at least once.

So, these are our top 10 picks of books that one must read before the year 2032 comes into our lives. We hope that you will love our selection of these books.
