The sport of cricket is much-followed in today’s day and age. Many youngsters and even people of the older generation enjoy this sport to the fullest. Currently, the ICC T20 World Cup is going on in full swing as the qualifying matches have found a great connection with all cricket fans. So, when cricket is not played for a short period, people wait eagerly for any match to start soon. Such is the passion for this sport which was originally the sport of the British.

Our Indian men’s cricket team has excelled at this sport and has recently beaten some very big teams like Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They have also beaten Australia in the warm-up game of the T20 World Cup.

The biggest rivalry in men’s cricket is considered to be between India and Pakistan. So, when India wins against Pakistan, it is time for a very big celebration in our country. People burst crackers all through the night and enjoy it like a festival.

The second greatest rivalry is between Australia and England who play the Ashes. This series is mainly a Test match series. But, nowadays it also includes ODIs and T20Is.

Cricket was previously played only in the Test match format. But, with new evolutions, it slowly developed two more formats like ODIs and T20Is.

Out of these three formats, T20I has gained prominence. We are now seeing various T20 leagues around the world. This concept was first thought of by India which devised the Indian Premier League in 2008.

Other countries are hosting their T20 league cricket like The Hundred, Big Bash League, CSA T20, and Caribbean Premier League. These T20 leagues have also witnessed a considerable fan following in today’s age and time.

Bollywood has also cashed in on this cricket love and produced some excellent movies like 83, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story etc. People have loved films about cricket and are always hungry for sports movies.
